Hill Bombing Skateboarder Suffers Fatal Accident In Glendora

A 20-year-old UC Irvine student died on March 20, 2015 in the Angeles National Forest while skateboarding down Glendora Mountain Road, just north of Glendora.
Eric Pederson, was "hill bombing" down the road, veered onto oncoming traffic, and fatally collided with a dump truck.
He was riding a long-board style skateboard and traveling approximately 20 mph before the deadly accident.
This occurred at about 10:00 am.
Hill bombing is the act of skateboarding downhill on a longboard as fast as you can.
Pederson had one friend riding in front of him and another friend riding behind of him. Another friend was following them in a van. On a right curve on the road, he failed to turn, and crossed over into oncoming traffic where he fatally collided with a 2000 Freightliner dump truck.
He was wearing safety gear during the collision, including a helmet and knee pads.
Skateboarding is prohibited on forest road, but thrill-seeking skateboarders still manage to find a way to engage in the activity, especially during the summer.
On YouTube, many users post videos of racing downhill on Glendora Mountain Road.
